I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
